I’ve talked about StoryCorps here before. Its mission is to preserve and share humanity’s stories in order to build connections between people and create a more just and compassionate world. Whether you’re familiar with it or not, do yourself a favor and spend a little time today poking around the website and listening. (There are also animated videos of many of the interviews, and a podcast.)
If you’re short on time, I’d like to point you in a specific direction. Their initiative called Road to Resilience: Memories that Move Us Forward “leverages the power of stories and storytelling to help children cope with the death of a parent, sibling, or loved one.” It provides a beautiful way for children to explore their grief over losing a loved one and preserve their memories of that cherished person.
