When I woke up far too early this morning to be ready to begin my day, it was the perfect time to finish reading another book from my Christmas stack: Grow Through It by Dani DiPirro (IG: @positivelypresent). It’s an inspiring guide for the emotional seasons of life, featuring her signature color-saturated illustrations (some velvety deep and some so bright they almost glow).
Each page has its own nugget of wise advice that can stand alone and also work in conjunction with the pages around it. In the tweet below are photos of a few of my favorites from the Spring section, but I’ll also include them in the gallery at right. Then pics 5 and 6 explain how the seasonal sections of the book are organized to help you find the parts that will speak to you most based on what’s happening in your life right now. (And honestly I can relate to all of them on what seems like an hourly rotating basis.)
After finishing the book, my thoughts were calm and I was able to go back to sleep, so I think that’s an excellent recommendation! If you’re looking for wisdom and inspiration for weathering your own emotional seasons, and also just a beautiful book that’s a delight to hold and read, Grow Through It is for you.
(I know book reviews don’t generally go into how the cover of the book feels, but this one is worthy of note. It’s a hardback, but the paper coating is so soft, almost like suede or fleece! Seriously if you see it at a bookstore, pick it up and just hold it. Then flip through it. I bet you’ll want it, too.)
